It did give me a little tingle the first few times I used it, but nothing painful. I only use it at night, maybe 2-3 times a week, and I always follow up with moisturizer and sunscreen the next morning. It's a huge bottle for the price, so it's a fantastic value. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a chemical exfoliant that doesn't break the bank!
